The effects of quarantine on postpartum depression, sleep quality and breastfeeding: Comparison of two different intensity period

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects quarantine/social isolation on maternal depression, breastfeeding and sleep quality in mothers who have just given birth during pandemic period that has affected whole world. This cross-sectional included women gave either first peak wave (April, 2020) or end (July, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) a tertiary regional referral centre. A total 210 patients were enrolled study. research data collected using specific questionnaires including Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS) Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale-Short Form (BSES-SF). As result, postpartum depression scores did not differ significantly among with different timelines according intensity SARS-CoV-2 (p=0.205 p=0.352, respectively). was better (p=0.000) post-quarantine than early stages when there strict quarantine regulations.
